Ruby, Python, Perl, PHP

The open source scripting languages is where we get started. We use PHP in LAMP programming hosted on Apache and our Linux server for most of our work. We use “Smarty” for a template system. We have our own framework after experimenting with the “Zend” framework and various “Rails” interpretations.

We have experimented with Ruby and Rails but keep coming back to PHP. PHP is a moving target and with PHP 5 is, in our opinion, a suitably mature and stable environment.

Of course Python, Perl even Java we have all used on special projects and each language has its special features that sometimes a particular job will just call out for. We are language junkies and are always up for a new challenge.

We are currently waiting for a contract in Scheme (a Lisp variant). They say Lisp is good for the brain.
